A Map of Time and Space According to Present Reflections

(09/29/13 to 10/25/13)

(Site specific wall/window installation. Giclee prints on transparent film. Vermont Studio Center)

Over the period of six months images from daily life were collected, archived, and assembled. The installation began in October on the walls and window of the Firehouse building in Johnson, Vermont. Over time as images accumulated, details of interior spaces, abstract forms, and architectural elements blur and blend to form new spaces or dilute from sunlight to form holes. Functioning as a physical representation of the in-between space of memory, time, and space, daylight illuminates the piece on the inside, allowing the immediate present of the window view to seep into images of past. At night, the installation is visible from the street at a distance. Existing between night and day, the experience of the work changes according to light and viewer location.
