Pieces of Light 120 mm
These are all quick flatbed scans 3200 resolution of 120mm film right out of the camera. I used a 75mm lens and 100mm macro lens. The Phase is FAR better at capturing the colour and light in my negatives, allows for a much higher resolution capture so we can make BIG prints.
I've had this roll of film in my camera since March and every time I build a temporary glass structure I photograph it at different times alongside my digital experiments. I really enjoy a handful of these. My favourites are 01, 02, 04, and 05. I am wondering if collaborating on scanning rolls of film with the Phase and processing those scans digitally might make the strongest photographs for the frame-able edition. And it's something that I don't believe has been highlighted yet in the production of collaborative special editions...the capability of the Phase in analogue/digital hybrid processes.
I can use my digital capture tests to make transparent film and fabric prints that are sculpted in space. Or I can combine them sculpturally with glass. I received a grant in May and can cover production costs for these.
